Responsibilities:
New Equipment Installation Follow-up and Process Setup
- Collaborate with cross-fuctional teams to develop project plans for the installation and setup of new equipment and follow up with machine qualifications
- Lead the integration of new equipment into existing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless compatibility and ensure all necessary machine manuals / Documentation follow-up and keeping them in order
- Study robustness of existing processes & introduce best fact-based process and implement process change implementations based on expertise
- Execute, maintain and champion PFMEA on all critical processes
Process Transfer and Stabillization
- Ensure all processes transferred from different sites are well documented, evaluated, qualified & matched with existing environment
- Provide technical support on process quality or process standardization for product/process industrialization
- Liaise with head quarter for continuous improvement of processes
- Ensure process stabilization including further optimization
Process Control
- Real time monitoring & analyzing of SPC charts including troubleshooting cases of non-conformance
- Work with production & maintenance to analyze lots on hold immediately & optimize overall process cycle times by removing redundant process steps
- Monitoring of Data trends for in-process specifications using SAP, PDA and other tools
Real Time Manufacturing Support
- Analyze real time problems, study & implement corrective actions
- Improve and Implement tools to support production processes, process specifications, procedures & TPM as and when required
- Analyze production problems & determine solutions through liaising with all parties involved & through studying past cases
- Provide guidance & work hand-in-hand with Equipment Engineering Team when handling machine issues
- Investigate customer claims and support our frontline in root cause finding as well as development of new solutions for our products
People Management
- Guide and train technicians on machine operations, including new process engineers
- Drive & technically support engineering teams to achieve an efficient work level
Promote Lean Culture
- Facilitate and be involved in LEAN Projects
Training & Development
- Provide Technical training to Technicians on current & new processes
- Training of new engineering assistants & imparting technical knowledge to them
Adhoc or special assignments
- Support any adhoc assignments by Head of Department
- Involved with special assignments of machine setup etc in other plants as per technical expertise
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical /Electrical/ Material Science Engineering preferred
- More than 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer with machine commissioning experience
- Possess good communication skills and is able to communicate with people of all levels
- Good team player, capable to organize and facilitate team activities
- Possess strong interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated to learn metal processing technology, precision engineering
- Committed to work long & odd hours
- Knowledge of non ferrous metal processing is essential (Stamping, rolling, annealing and slitting )
- Cold Rolling experience will be an added advantage
- Possess sound decision making, analytical and critical thinking skills
- Technical expertise on shop floor to make timely decisions to resolve engineering problems quickly & to ensure minimized low risk of losing yield & quality problems
- Problem solving methodology - SPC tools, DOE, FMEA & LEAN techniques
- Strong data analytical skills
- Basic skills in SAP (Material management)
