JOB SUMMARY
The Forex Trader’s main responsible is to execute trades based on orders and pricing requests received from clients. He/She actively contributes to the development of profitable client relationship as well as to the FX desk’s smooth running and efficient administration.
The Forex Trader deals with a substantial volume of trading orders day-to-day and is meticulous in executing these orders accurately as well as resilient and clear-headed in this fast-paced working environment. He/She is sensitive to risk code of conduct and regulatory related responsibilities, ensuring traders are executed in a compliant and risk-controlled manner.
The Forex Trader is hard working, possesses deep knowledge of FX products and has good experience in various trading and risk management strategies.
Key Tasks/Main Responsibilities
Manage trades from inception to execution
- Monitor the market for news, potential disruptions and opportunities
- Conduct pre-trade analysis and trade verifications
- Ensure accurate updates, communication and proper execution of client orders
- Ensure all outstanding orders are re-capped and passed to New York shift
- Ensure that all orders are placed out correctly on Friday night
Establish compliance with regulations and execution policies
- Learn and stay up-to-date with local trading regulations and best execution policies
- Ensure trading procedures are governed within set trading limits
- Ensure that the trades executed comply with organisation’s execution policies and local trading regulations (FX Global Code of Conduct) including the Financial Risk Limits imposed by the organisation
Develop and Manage profitable client relationships
- Provide a professional and consistent level of service and support to all clients
- Develop a profitable and consistent business unit in order to achieve targets set by management
- Develop and manage good relationships with whom counterparty limits are available
- Respond swiftly to clients’ requests and quote competitive prices when required
Contribute to the FX Desk’s smooth running and efficient administration
- Ensure a seamless transition of the pro-active client servicing between Night/Day shifts
- Achieve the budget set for the shift
- Report P/L, positions and activities pertaining to the shift on a daily basis
- Perform daily reconciliation of both P/L & positions with RMD
- Report on customer activities on a daily basis
- Ensure accurate K+ inputs
- Takeover HO orders and be responsive when HO needs to place new or modify existing orders
Develop and maintain inter-bank liquidity relationships
- Develop liquidity that is pertaining to NY shift
- Develop and maintain inter-bank relationships so that the bank is equipped with best liquidity avenues to meet its service requirements
- Identify good counterparties to help to watch clients’ orders over weekend and provide the bank with good pricing and liquidity when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master in Finance, Computer Science, Business or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the field
- Obtained FMRP and/or any other relevant regulatory certifications
- Willing to stand-in for New York/London Shift work when required
- Good team player
- Strong quantitative skills
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
