Job Description
The Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials (I-FIM) is seeking to recruit a research fellow in conjugated oligoelectrolytes and polymer materials. The job responsibilities include:
- Design, synthesize, and characterize molecular reports based on conjugated oligoelectrolytes and polymer materials
- Perform outreach and collaborate with industry and clinical partners
- Perform literature reviews and stay up to date on developments in the field
- Author regular reports and presentations to keep stakeholders updated on the progress
- Contribute to publications and patent applications
- Collaborate with other IDMxS researchers to conceptualize and propose novel assays when feasible
- Supervise PhD and undergraduate student projects, as required
Qualifications
- PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Biophysics, or related disciplines
- At least 4 years of relevant working experience
- Good writing and communication skills
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to thrive in a highly multidisciplinary team-based environment
- Established record in the synthesis of complex molecular structures and in the characterization of new materials via photophysical and electrochemistry tools
- Understanding of the elementary photophysical processes in organic materials
- Previous expertise in the development of biological assays based on fluorescent reporters
