Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Tax and Accounts will support the Managing Director in overseeing the company's tax compliance, financial reporting, and accounting functions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with advanced knowledge of tax regulations, accounting principles, and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance and Planning:
- Manage team to ensure clients’ tax matters follow all local tax regulations.
- Review the preparation and review of corporate tax returns, including personal income tax and corporate tax for our clients.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to identify impacts on our clients and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports for our clients.
- Ensure that financial reports comply with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to clients’ management.
- Accounting/GST Functions:
- accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance for our clients.
- Guide team on preparation of GST returns for our clients.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounts and GST prepared by team.
- Provide accounting/GST advisory to clients when appropriate.
- Team Management and Development:
- Supervise and mentor accounting and tax staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment within the finance team.
- Coordinate training and development programs to enhance team skills and performance.
- Strategic Initiatives:
- Contribute to strategic financial planning and decision-making processes of the company.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies to achieve company goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide quality work to our clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA/ Accredited Tax Advisor designation preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax, accounting, or financial management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of tax regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to handle complex financial and tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.
