Requirements
• To be an effective operations manager, one must have planning and organizational skills. He/she must be able to act decisively in critical situations, grasp concepts easily and solve problems in production. An operations manager must also have advanced knowledge in the use of computer programs such as Microsoft Office and other production-related software. Other useful skills in this field include a high attention to detail, negotiation skills, good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, strong leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities. Assistant managers must also be able to work under pressure and work well under tight deadlines. Good communication skills (English and Mandarin).
• Operations managers work irregular hours, even on weekends or holidays. Most of the time, assistants are required to work extended hours, especially when meeting deadlines. This job does not require travel, but the work environment can be stressful at times.
1. Develop and implement production policies and procedures
2. Delegate manufacturing tasks so that the team can meet production deadlines
3. Set priorities to ensure the manufacturing team works in the most efficient manner
4. Ensure product quality and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers
4. Make recommendations on how to improve employee efficiency and reduce costs
5. Recruit, hire and train new production workers to perform their duties
