We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant (Financial Reporting) to join one of the largest oil trading companies. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of financial reporting standards, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages regularly, ensuring the accuracy and clarity of financial statements and supporting documents.
- Calculate and document monthly tax provisions, and assist in the preparation and submission of the yearly Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI) to meet tax obligations.
- Accurately complete and submit required government surveys, while also handling various ad hoc tasks that arise, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department.
- Support the preparation and submission of Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, Global Tax Platform (GTP) reports, and Annual Information Statement (AIS) reports, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop and maintain robust accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures, ensuring these controls are documented and effectively implemented to safeguard financial integrity.
- Organize and manage internal and external audit processes, providing timely and accurate information and documentation. Collaborate closely with auditors to address any issues and implement their recommendations.
- Thoroughly document all financial processes and conduct regular reviews of existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date with statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring that all financial activities and reports comply with current laws and regulations. Implement necessary changes to maintain compliance and avoid legal or regulatory issues.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 7 years of reporting experience
- Working experience with a commodities company is a plus
- Prior audit experience is preferred
- Proficient in MS and SAP system
- Commercially focused and flexible individual
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
