Job Description:

As the Transport/Technical Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of freight traffic operations within the Changi Airfreight Centre. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong understanding of logistics, transportation management, and operational efficiency to ensure smooth and cost-effective movement of goods. Your key responsibilities will include:


Operational Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the freight traffic department to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including airlines, ground handling agents, and regulatory bodies to optimize operations.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and policies to enhance efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of transport and logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety and security protocols.
  • Implement and maintain robust safety and security measures to protect staff, cargo, and assets.

Performance Monitoring:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and report on the performance of the freight traffic operations.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

Customer Service:

  • Maintain high standards of customer service, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their requirements are met.

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of airfreight operations, logistics, and transportation management.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • Strong commitment to safety and security standards.
