Job Description:
- Provide on-site supervision for civil, demolition and building structural construction works and ensure works carried out in accordance with the contract specifications and safety regulations, such as Building Control Act & Regs and Workplace Safety & Health Act & Regs.
- Conduct daily inspection and highlight to Builder any potential risk and hazards. Discuss with Builder on the effective preventive measures to eliminate the risk.
- Consult and discuss with Builder on all EHS irregularities and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare daily safety reports.
- Review MOS, RA, SWP and other documents from the Builder and provide comments in safety aspect.
- Ensure all required forms under safety aspects, i.e. Permit-to-Work, Hot Work Permit, lifting permit and etc to be filled up properly by Builder's representative before work commence.
- Attend all meeting with Builder, Subcontractor, authorities and Client.
- Investigate accidents, prepare reports and recommend remedial actions.
Requirements:
- The Safety Officer shall be registered with Ministry of Manpower.
- The WSHO shall be also an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) with National Environment Agency (NEA).
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, preferable in Civil Engineering, or in Constructon related study.
- At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience including supervision of demolition/construction work as WSHO.
- Well versed with WSH Act and Regulations, other Statutory Requirements and codes of practices.
- Prepare to work overtime when required.
- Good initiative, interpersonal and communication skills.
- 5.5 days per week (half day on Saturday).
