Responsibilities:
- Monitor clients’ vessels and detect performance variations between them, whilst analysing and comparing data from both company, client and industry sources.
- Monitor vessel performance data, including fuel consumption, speed, and emissions.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends linked to vessel performance.
- Utilise modern Business Intelligence Tools to process and interpret extensive datasets and routine vessel reporting.
- Identify patterns and deduce insights to suggest enhancements for shipping companies through data analysis.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess and enhance hull, propeller, and engine performance.
- Present findings and offer improvement recommendations through written reports or direct client engagement.
- Comprehend client requirements and contribute insights for customising products to partners and developers.
- Oversee client projects, introducing tools and procedures for the performance monitoring, including training for new clients.
- Refine and specify service offerings and deliverables for fleet performance advice within the Vessel Performance Manager remit.
- Conduct trials for potential new clients and explore additional services for existing ones.
- Prepare monthly overviews for client meetings including digital presentations where required.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations related to vessel performance and emissions.
- Address and resolve performance-related issues promptly and effectively, providing actionable recommendations to clients and internal teams.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of performance metrics and improvements, and manage records related to client projects and service outcomes.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to propose and integrate innovative solutions for performance optimization.
- Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking studies to identify performance gaps and recommend solutions.
Requirements:
- Possession of a Marine Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Sailing background considered an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in the shipping sector, particularly in vessel performance, fuel efficiency and energy saving devices.
- Strong motivation to engage with clients effectively.
- Proficiency in modern IT tools and concepts.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Strong negotiation skills to manage client expectations and contractual agreements effectively.
- Analytical and conceptual aptitude with a self-driven and energetic approach.
- Ability to inspire and persuade, with confident interpersonal skills suitable for interactions with colleagues and clients across various levels.
- Ability to work independently or as party of a team whilst maintaining a high level of engagement.
