Job Summary:
The Retail Sales Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lighting shop, ensuring exceptional customer service, driving sales, and managing a team of sales associates. This role involves training and motivating staff, managing inventory, and maintaining a visually appealing and organized store environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Supervise and support sales associates in their daily activities.
- Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing training for current staff.
- Prepare and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance, providing feedback and coaching.
Customer Service:
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and assist in product selection.
- Handle customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Sales and Marketing:
- Set and monitor sales targets for the team.
- Implement strategies to achieve and exceed sales goals.
- Plan and execute in-store promotions and special events.
- Stay informed about the latest lighting products and trends.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder stock as needed.
- Ensure products are accurately displayed and priced.
- Oversee the merchandising and presentation of products.
Store Operations:
- Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyze sales reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Provide regular feedback to management on store performance and customer preferences.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a dipolma / degree in business, management, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a retail sales role, preferably in the lighting or home improvement industry.
- Some supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and issues effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proven ability to drive sales and meet targets.
- Knowledge of lighting products, including technical specifications and installation requirements, is a plus.
