Job Responsibilities
- Review Commercial lines business renewal include facultative reinsurance inwards
- Maximise renewal retention
- Provide underwriting support to Business Development (BD) Team
- Day to day servicing including following up on outstanding premium and liaising with intermediaries/clients
- Undertake projects or other duties assigned by Head of Section (HOS) and/or Head of Department (HOD)
- Ensure that both target and underwriting growth are met as set out by HOS and/or HOD
- To be involved and assist the BD Team in activities organised by them for increase of business opportunities and sales targets
- To provide renewal terms to intermediaries and direct clients within the required deadline
- Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority as specified in the Underwriting Guidelines, Treaty and Acceptance Limits and to obtain approval from HOS and/or HOD if exceeded authority
- To place facultative reinsurance outwards for risks exceeding Treaty capacity and/or for the purpose of minimising and spreading risk exposure
- To secure Special Acceptance approval from Treaty for renewal accounts beyond Income's retention or Treaty's parameter
- To maximise renewal retention for all intermediaries and facultative reinsurance inwards channels through influence and negotiations
- Build and maintain/reinforce close relationship with intermediaries and reinsurers
- To assist Motor underwriters in renewals for Brokers' and Corporate Agents' channels
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree and minimum CGI with at least 3 years of underwriting experience preferred.
- Reliable and trustworthy person who can deliver when is expected and work within deadlines.
- Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Familiar with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Strong customer focus and consistent look to exceed customer expectations.
