Job Purpose
To promote thriving and connected communities through an ecosystem of care by discovering assets, connecting residents, organizations, and resources, and mobilizing residents and beneficiaries through the Community Work team.
This role also involves influencing mindsets to shift towards community-led initiatives, inclusively involving residents and beneficiaries in decision-making, documenting asset mapping, evaluating data, and storytelling for impact.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Providing Leadership and Direction
- Lead a team of 2-3 Community Workers.
- Work with the Community Development Strategy Team (CDST), to communicate direction for Community Development Practice Team (CDPT), including plans to integrate other services of Allkin.
- Develop SOPs, policies, and lead at 414 Community Hub’s exigencies, e.g., critical incidents involving staff, residents, volunteers and benficiaries.
- To lead monthly Competency Circles and Supervision Circles for 8-10 community workers from CDPT and Community Workers from across Allkin, focusing on the integration of theory in practice.
- Coach Community Workers in capacity building of resident-contributors, resident change agents in alignment with community-centric approach, including leading peace-making conversations in times of conflicts and disagreements to supports continuation and enrichment of communities.
- Partner CDST to develop core theories and frameworks.
Asset-Mapping Documentation, Data Evaluation, and Impact
- Lead team to conduct environment scans, identify key target populations and collect regularly a database of assets and other community-focused information on residents and neighbourhoods, highlighting key trends and opportunities.
- Regularly review KPIs, outcomes and theory of change of community initiatives to ensure relevance to social impact.
- Prepare data informed presentations to promote opportunities for social mobility and social cohesion.
Influence Mindset Shift and Capacity Building
- Engaging in platforms that motivate internal/external stakeholders to shift towards a community-centric perspective in decision making, provision of services and processes.
- Co-lead facilitation of ABCD workshops for internal or external stakeholders, to strengthen adoption of community-centric lens and practices.
Others
- Prepare and manage required reports and budgeting - managing resources and recommending improvements.
- In collaboration with Facilities, ensure proper upkeep of 414 Community Hub’s premises.
- Represent Allkin in workgroups/taskforces, liaison person.
- Any other work responsibility assigned by supervisor/HOD.
Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor / Master in Social Work / Sociology/ Community Work or related discipline.
- At least 6 years of experience in social services, with a proven track record in community work initiatives and program management.
- Minimum of 3 years of management experience preferred.
- Enterprising, creative, and adaptable, with the ability to incorporate iterative learnings into practice and supervision.
- Strong leadership, managerial, team-building, and supervision skills.
- Proficiency in community work skills and competencies (e.g., Asset-Based Community Development).
