A well-funded global fintech firm is seeking a Senior Merchant Risk Analyst to be part of their team. The firm is reinventing the way risk is managed in payments, by unlocking the value of the massive amount of data payments companies have access to.
Thy are seeking a hands-on analyst with 2+ years of payments risk experience (ideally including merchant risk/fraud experience) who is excited at the prospect of facing new and difficult data challenges. Someone who is comfortable working as part of a team who are building things from scratch. We’re ideally looking for someone with some existing technical skills (SQL/Python), but who is really motivated by making an impact on our business and our customers.
Responsibilities:
● Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis on both individual merchants and portfolios to understand the risks they pose,
● Writing high quality summary reports on our partners portfolios to provide them with insights into where their risk hot-spots are,
● Build, implement and automate insightful analysis which cuts through the noise and provides clear actionable suggestions for improvement which we can use to better monitor the portfolios we cover, and/or can share with our partners.
● Liaise with various payments firms and insurers to understand their needs and help ensure we meet them,
● Support colleagues around the business to understand the risks we’re seeing and to guide our product development to better meet our customers needs,
We are looking for:
● 2+ years of risk analyst experience within the payments industry, ideally spanning merchant and fraud risks,
● Great writing, numerical and logical skills,
● Experience conducting analysis, generating insights, including extracting/manipulating data in SQL and Python is a strong plus,
● Great ability to identify trends and insights from complex and noisy data sources. You intuitively understand how to approach analysis to give a simple, clear picture to your audience,
● Willing to get your hands dirty - including manually collating additional information and/or working on individual account data where necessary,
● Able to work autonomously and to display strong judgement and proactivity is essential,
● Ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of stakeholders, including both creating/giving presentations and writing reports as needed.
