Job summary
We are looking for an Internal Controls Lead with good work experience in audit and compliance, preferably relevant to the financial industry. . This position reports to Corporate Governance Service Team (“CGST”) Head.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist and provide advisory support on various business initiatives to meet regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Work with the business to design processes and controls relating to key regulatory or compliance focus areas, e.g., AML, etc.
- Work on remedial action to close gaps identified from regulatory authorities including MAS/ external and internal audit findings.
- Conduct regular quality assurance reviews to ensure the business adhere to relevant statutes, regulations, and guidelines.
- Monitor the business mandatory regulatory reporting obligations by sending periodic reminders and performing follow-ups with the relevant departments to ensure compliance with all required reporting and communications within the stipulated timelines.
- Execute ad-hoc assignments as requested by the Corporate Governance Service Team (CGST) Head.
Job Requirements
- A university degree or diploma in accountancy/ business or equivalent is required.
- At least 6-8 years of experience in audit and compliance preferably relevant to the financial industry.
- Good understanding of regulations, business, and operations preferably in financial industry.
- Proactive and has reasonable analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Good business acumen and ensure confidentiality.
- Able to work under pressure and independently or in a team.
- Good interpersonal and written/ spoken communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin as the job requires dealings with overseas Chinese speaking colleagues and team.
