Job Summary:

The Sr Executive/Executive, Youth Engagement supports the Programme Manager and Deputy Director in planning and implementation of activities in the youth outreach work of ASPIRE Programme in Morning Star Community Services within community. Him/her develops youths into well-adjusted and contributing members of society. He/she develops and implements community development activities and programmes. He/she guides and support youths in their social and emotional learning (SEL).
A team player who is committed and possesses good communication and problem-solving skills, the Youth Worker works in schools, communities and youth sector organisations.
The candidate is also expected to have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends to reach the youths in the community.
Key responsibility areas
Engagement and Relationship Building
- Engage with young people from diverse backgrounds and understand their needs and interests
- Builds partnerships and implement core programmes and services to be delivered in school, community and/or partner organisations
- Implement the organisation's outreach plans in order to build relevant partnerships for youth engagement activities
Programme Development and Delivery
- Plan, organize, implement and evaluate activities, workshops, and events that promote social, educational, and recreational development
- Collaborate with other staff, volunteers, and external organizations to deliver a variety of programs
Support and Guidance of Youth
- Provide individual support to young people, including both formal and informal advice and guidance on personal and social issues
- Help young people set goals, build self-esteem, and develop life skills
- Develop trusting and supportive relationships with young people
Community Engagement
- Work with families, schools, and community organizations to promote youth involvement and address community issues
- Assess needs of youths based on information and feedback collated from multiple stakeholders
- Manage volunteers in the delivery of programmes and interventions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve common goals
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimally 3-5 years’ work experience with youth in schools or community
- Previous experience working with young people, either in a paid or voluntary capacity
- Strong understanding of the issues facing young people, including mental health, substance abuse, and social-emotional challenges
Qualifications:
- A diploma/degree in Social Work, Education Psychology, or a related field is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
