Job Summary:
The Site Supervisor for Civil and Structural Works will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction activities onsite, ensuring adherence to project specifications, schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and effective communication skills to manage construction teams and subcontractors efficiently.
Responsibilities:
1. Construction Supervision:
- Coordinate and supervise daily construction activities related to civil and structural works.
- Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project plans.
- Monitor progress and quality of workmanship to meet project timelines and standards.
2. Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and laborers on-site.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and oversee performance to ensure productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular meetings and toolbox talks to communicate objectives, procedures, and safety requirements.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct inspections and quality checks on materials, equipment, and workmanship.
- Identify and address any deviations from specifications or standards promptly.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain quality and compliance throughout the construction process.
4. Health and Safety Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
- Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices on-site.
5. Coordination and Communication:
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure seamless coordination of activities.
- Report progress, issues, and challenges to the project manager or construction manager promptly.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address concerns and maintain positive relationships.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate daily records of construction activities, including work progress, site conditions, and incidents.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by the project management team.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and documentation for project closeout.
7. Resource Management:
- Manage and optimize the use of construction materials, equipment, and manpower on-site.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate deliveries to ensure continuous workflow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Supervisor or similar role in civil and structural construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Familiarity with construction safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
- Processes relevant local certifications i.e. WAH, Lifting etc
