Purpose of Role:
To supervise large FPSO Construction projects. Develops the Path of Construction and strategies for timely completion of construction deliverable from project inception to final close out. Leads the formal Constructability process for assigned projects. Involved in the sourcing and selection sub-contractors. Conducts pre-construction site surveys. Organizes and manages all Construction Staff on their project. Ultimately responsible for all construction activities on assigned projects. Reports to overall Project Manager. Travel and/or site assignment at fabricator’s facilities and/or final installation site during construction execution phase may be required
Key Deliverables
· Responsible for project site team duties and safety management. Responsible for ensuring the project site team is fully aware of the requirements for project team duties and safety. Ensure regular “toolbox” meetings are held to review work and safety issues.
· Overall responsibility for the quality of construction work in accordance with engineering documents and contract terms.
· Management of the subcontracts and interface with the fabricator, regarding technical and commercial issues within the technical and financial authority.
· Assist in the preparation of Construction Plans, including developing the construction sequence, determining labor resources required, and producing overall construction schedule.
· Manage interface with engineering with respect to document delivery and document quality. Manage interface with procurement regarding deliveries of free issue items and coordination with local agent/forwarder until final delivery to the fabricator. Monitor procurement of vendor packages, long lead items, and other critical materials and equipment to ensure compliance with required on-site dates, contract specifications, and appropriate material handling requirements.
· Review the Scopes of Work and ensure site supervisors are familiar with their duties. Conduct regular communication with site supervisors to ensure scope, target, and schedules are clear and controlled.
· Review the schedules for fabrication work. Ensure consistency between engineering and procurement deliveries and the fabricator’s schedule and resolve anomalies.
· Ensure fabricator understands plans and executes his part of the mechanical completion process and processes ITR’s as defined by SPBAG scope.
· Coordinate and liaise with the Project Commissioning/Completion Manager on all activities related to the completion of the fabricated objects. Ensure Site Team assistance in the process of completion activities, e.g. pre-commissioning and commissioning
· The coordinate interface between project certifying authority and regulatory bodies for systems requiring authority approval on site.
· Monitor scope and cost development including review of the IOC (Identification of Changes) and variation orders.
· Provide construction planning, support, and execution expertise in all phases of construction
· Coordinate construction-related activities during project execution phases and provide associated discipline reporting to management
· Serve as a member of the Project Team (PT) when the project assigned
· Foster good communications and relations with contractors
· Understand and enforce the all terms and scope as defined in contracts (as it pertains to construction)
