Merchandise Buyer
Roles & Responsibilities:
Merchandising
· Assist to ensure profitability through budget and product buy planning, follow-up Purchasing activity in complete line to align with the Group’s purchasing policy and values.
· Assist in the development and execution of the Merchandising Strategy for the brand in line with positioning; taking into consideration customer profile, categories assortment, fashion trends, items and price points.
· Develop a close working relationship with strategic partners, both internal and external, on matters relating to merchandise buying and product mix, seasonal launches.
· Negotiate for favourable terms and drive business with vendors and make necessary adjustments according to performance to meet business targets and objectives.
· Analysing market research and trends to determine consumer demand and potential sales volume.
· Review and comment on all preproduction samples to ensure bulk production followed fit, construction, design, and sundries details are correct as spec.
Operations
· Manage and execution of merchandise plan. Responsible for markdown and discounts to achieve the set financial goals.
· Prepare and analyse weekly, monthly, seasonal merchandising, buying reports and sell through rate to optimize sales, margin, and inventory management.
· Support Sales and Ecommerce division to meet sales plans and targets.
· Conduct trend, product knowledge training and feedback sessions with sales & operations team regularly.
· Monitor stock level and sales performance to perform the necessary stock transfer (stock consol).
Merchandise Buyer
Roles & Responsibilities (Cont’d):
Delivery & QC
· Orchestrate shipping functions and interact with transportation planner.
· Keep track of delivery status to ensure timely delivery of merchandise.
· Quality check to ensure that AQL of the company is property maintained & exceeded.
· Check and sort out defectives’ product as well as follow up action with suppliers.
Administrative
· Responsible for PO creation and end-to-end order documentation process when necessary.
· SKU and barcode creation if required
Requirements:
· Min. 3 years’ relevant work experience in retail operations and merchandising.
· Strong merchandising skills with the ability to drive business through creativity and extensive fashion knowledge.
· Planning and analytical skills, ability to set goals, manage situations and follow up results.
· Organized and focused, able to manage a variety of projects under heavy time pressure and prioritize appropriately.
· A positive and coaching attitude, with willingness to learn and improve.
· Proficiency in MS office
