Senior Quantity Surveyor

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Prepare Tender and Contract Documents, including Bills of Quantities:

  • Develop comprehensive tender documents that clearly outline the project scope, specifications, timeline, and evaluation criteria, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

2. Prepare and Analyze Costings for Tenders:

  • Estimate project costs based on material prices, labor rates, equipment rentals, and other relevant factors.
  • Develop cost models and prepare cost breakdowns for various tender scenarios.

3. Submission of Tender Query:

  • Prepare comprehensive tender responses that address all client requirements and specifications outlined in the tender documents.
  • Ensure timely submission of tenders, adhering to all deadlines and submission protocols.
  • Clarify any ambiguities or missing information with the client through formal tender queries.

4. Measure, Price, Negotiate and Agree Budgets and Costs for Variations to Project Scope:

  • In collaboration with the project team, assess any changes or variations to the project scope requested by the client.
  • Accurately measure and quantify the impact of these variations on project costs.
  • Negotiate cost implications and pricing with the client to reach mutually agreeable terms.
  • Update project budgets and cost estimates to reflect any agreed-upon variations.

5. Visit Site to Measure and Value Works Completed:

  • Conduct regular site visits to verify the progress of the project and ensure it aligns with the agreed-upon scope.
  • Measure completed works and evaluate the quality of deliverables against contract specifications.
  • Calculate the value of completed works based on agreed-upon rates and quantities.

6. Updating of ENGIE Sales Force Portal

7. Attend project meetings and site meetings to discuss progress, address issues, and ensure smooth project execution

  • Create detailed bills of quantities (BOQs) that accurately list all materials, labor, and equipment needed for the project, along with their estimated quantities and unit prices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and engineers to ensure the BOQs accurately reflect project requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Min Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical engineering or Quantity Survey or equivalent
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in preparing BQs for Electrical or Mechanical bids.
  • In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing and industry
  • Experience in liaising with sub-contractor and vendors.
  • Understand bid/tender documents/drawings/specification
  • Detailed and meticulous
  • Able to work independently.

Competent in MS Excel and Words
