Business Development Director

Jeeahpoh Catering Management (singapore) Pte. Ltd.

Position Overview:

The Business Development Director will be responsible for leading the franchise’s growth strategy by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. This role requires an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the restaurant industry, particularly within the Chinese cuisine segment, as well as a strong background in franchise development, market analysis, and relationship management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Growth Planning:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy focused on expanding the restaurant franchise both regionally and internationally.

• Conduct market analysis to identify potential growth areas, emerging trends, and competitive landscapes.

• Create a roadmap for new market entry, ensuring scalability and sustainability in line with the brand’s objectives.


2. Franchise Development & Expansion:

• Identify, evaluate, and secure potential franchise partners with the capacity and commitment to maintain brand standards.

• Lead the negotiation and execution of franchise agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including landlords, developers, and potential franchisees.


3. Financial Planning & Performance Management:

• Collaborate with finance teams to set revenue goals, monitor budgets, and evaluate the financial viability of new ventures.

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales growth, profitability, and return on investment (ROI) for new locations.

• Oversee the financial performance of existing franchises, providing strategic insights to drive improvements.


4. Brand & Operational Excellence:

• Ensure brand consistency across all franchise locations by upholding the highest standards in customer experience, food quality, and service.

• Collaborate with the operations team to develop and refine processes that enhance franchise performance and customer satisfaction.

• Implement training programs and resources to support franchise partners in managing their businesses effectively.


5. Leadership & Team Development:

• Build and lead a high-performing business development team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, driving growth and alignment with business objectives.


6. Marketing & Public Relations:

• Work closely with marketing teams to develop and execute brand awareness campaigns, promotional strategies, and local marketing initiatives.

• Represent the brand at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and reputation.


Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience (8+ years) in business development, franchise management, or a similar role within the restaurant, hospitality, or food service industry.

• In-depth knowledge of the Chinese cuisine market and understanding of consumer preferences.

• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Demonstrated success in leading franchise expansion and managing multi-unit operations.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to analyze financial data, manage budgets, and drive profitability.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred Skills:

• Mandarin and English proficiency is a must.

• Experience working with international franchise operations.

• Familiarity with regulatory and legal requirements related to food service and franchising.
