POSITION SUMMARY:
The Field Applications Specialist, Southeast Asia is responsible for supporting and growing the Cepheid business by assessing and delivering the application of company products to meet customer needs pre and/or post-sales among current and potential customers and developing KOL growth.
This position is part of the APAC Applications & Training team and will be based out of Singapore. With a primary emphasis on growing the user base, the Field Applications Specialist will support and enable distributors, providing in-field assistance, technical direction and support to customers/distributors on instrument operation, assay implementation and maintenance. The Field Application Specialist will conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations for customers. The Field Application Specialist will work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support and Service to identify and assess customer needs to provide high quality support that exceeds expectations.
In this role, you will have an opportunity to:
- Be held accountable for the success of SEA distributors to integrate Cepheid instruments (including installation), assays and connectivity solutions into customer laboratories by providing support to the distributor/customer from installation, implementation through verification and/or evaluation to customer go-live (patient reporting).
- Provide knowledge/education and demonstration of Cepheid instrumentation, software and reagents to distributors, current and potential customers where required and proactively provide enhancements for development and optimization of Cepheid assays, software and hardware.
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives to support account strategies aimed at increasing Cepheid business and retaining current business. Understand/track assay implementation/”Go-live” activity with distributors in-country. Ensure distributors are adhering to corporate compliance policies and Cepheid marketing/branding strategies
- Conduct education/technical seminars and presentations at customer sites, trade shows and workshops to drive thought leader adoption of Cepheid technology. Follow normal standard of work for documentation and customer complaint handling to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Ensure install and customer management database is updated with full activity traceability.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education and Experience (in years):
- Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years of related work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of Medical Technologist/Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience and experience in molecular/IVD and microbiology techniques.
Knowledge and skills:
- Demonstrated excellent project management skills and customer relations/service skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and works well both independently and team orientated
- Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook)
- Willingness to travel across Southeast Asia, up to 50%.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Hands-on experience with lab automation systems and with LIS/connectivity
- Experience with CRM, SAP, SFDC or similar tools
