Responsibilities
- Complete the architecture and system design for the Ship Management System (SMS).
- Carry out SMS system integration with external systems.
- Complete, organize, oversee, and provide support for the Set to Work (STW), Harbor Acceptance Test (HAT), and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
- Handle technical documents and software configuration management.
- Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance on hardware and software.
- Communicate with other engineering trades, project managers, and clients.
- Verify SMS functioning and operation throughout the vessel life cycle maintenance phase.
- Keep tight working ties with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SCADA software and PLC programming.
- Proficiency in instrumentation and control, as well as control system design.
- Proficiency in networking concepts, cybersecurity, and computer administration.
- Familiarity with common communication protocols such as CANbus J1939, Profibus, RS422, RS485, Modbus RTU/TCP, and NMEA.
- Experience with machine learning, data analytics, JSON, Python, and Restful will be beneficial.
- It will be advantageous to know international codes, marine classification, and statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Prior site testing and commissioning experience is advantageous.\
