- Own the Luxury Category: Drive its growth by working with internal stakeholders and ecosystem partners to refine and implement sales, marketing, assortment, and services strategies.
- Business Models Expertise: Manage both marketplace and wholesale business models, requiring specific buying knowledge and financial skills. Oversee a substantial budget to purchase products, find new wholesale partners, negotiate contracts, offers, and commercial partnerships.
- Team Management: Lead and manage a luxury team of buyers, category managers, and account executives to ensure alignment with business objectives and optimal performance.
- Market Analysis: Analyze luxury consumer buying patterns and predict future trends to inform decision-making.
- Merchandising Strategies: Implement merchandising strategies to ensure product offerings align with customer demands. Drive the business forward by negotiating contracts with new and existing suppliers, maximizing commercial opportunities through effective inventory management, improved availability and forecasting, and price management.
- Marketing Initiatives: Use data, experimentation, and creativity to execute online and offline marketing strategies and initiatives, driving customer penetration and brand awareness.
- Brand Positioning: Lead the development of the Luxury category brand positioning across all marketing channels.
- Brand Acquisition Roadmap: Strategize and build the Luxury brand acquisition roadmap, while pitching commercial deals with top luxury brand principals and authorized distributors worldwide.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Tech, Operations, and Data teams to craft growth strategies, building consensus and influencing decision-making among senior leaders.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external partners and industry experts.
- Primary Point of Contact: Ensure strong collaboration and communication across teams, serving as the primary point of contact for the Luxury Segment.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: At least 12 years of experience in business development with a proven record of successfully driving growth. E-commerce and luxury experiences are a plus.
- Negotiation and Relationship Management: Expert in negotiations, supplier acquisition, and relationship management, with a high capability of influencing partners.
- Marketing Strategies: Skilled in building and executing marketing strategies to acquire new customers, increase customer penetration, and enhance brand positioning.
- Organizational Skills: Highly organized to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and influence internal partners.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience working directly with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations against rapid growth targets and timelines.
- Analytical Skills: Hands-on mentality, with an analytical and structured way of working, and exceptional logical thinking skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
