Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting ingredients, as well as preparing simple dishes under the supervision of the chef.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Ensure that the kitchen, including all equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, is kept clean and sanitized according to health and safety standards.
• Dishwashing: Wash and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using manual or automated equipment, and ensure they are stored properly.
• Stock Management: Assist in receiving and organizing kitchen supplies and ingredients, checking deliveries for quality and quantity, and storing them appropriately.
• Waste Management: Properly dispose of waste, manage recycling, and follow protocols for reducing food waste.
• Support Kitchen Team: Provide general support to the kitchen staff, including helping with plating and garnishing dishes, as needed.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate protective gear and reporting any hazards or incidents to the kitchen manager. • Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager to ensure the efficient running of the kitchen.
