Responsibilities:
- The WSHO is responsible for overseeing and maintaining safety policies, procedures and regulations to ensure site compliance with prevailing MOM safety acts and Regulations etc.
- Enforce and ensure all sites are complied with Workplace, Safety & Health Acts.
- Liaise closely with the Project Managers and Project Engineers on workplace safety, health and environmental issues to maintain a high level of safety at the sites
- Conduct and enforce WSH and In-House rules and regulations, inspections of safety work processes and follow up corrective actions where necessary to ensure workplace safety and compliance with approved Safe Work Practices (SWP).
- To ensure all sites compliance and good procedures/ practices in statutory environmental and health requirements at project site and requirement premises.
- Conduct regular site inspections and follow-up on all safety infringements and accidents and propose or recommend remedial actions to minimize the risk.
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant Authorities on all safety issues.
- Preparation and submission of weekly reports.
- Ensure safe work procedures implemented to control risk.
Requirements:
- Certificate of Registration by MOM as WSHO.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience as a WSH Officer in local construction industry especially in Building and Construction Industry.
- Able to work independently and/or lead a team.
- Good knowledge of WSH Act and other WSH related compliance.
- Able to work long hours and able to converse English.
- Must possess a WSQ Specialist Diploma in Safety & Health, or relevant degree.
