Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Assistant Duties:
• Food Preparation:• Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning vegetables, fruits, meats, and other items as directed.
• Cleaning and Sanitizing:• Maintain a clean kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment, and cleaning workstations, counters, and floors.
• Stock Management:• Help receive, unpack, and store kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper organization and inventory management.
• Support to Chefs:• Assist chefs with basic cooking tasks, such as mixing ingredients, preparing simple dishes, and plating food.
• Waste Disposal:• Properly dispose of waste and follow recycling protocols, maintaining cleanliness and order in the kitchen.
• Equipment Maintenance:• Ensure kitchen equipment is clean, functional, and report any issues to the kitchen manager.
Server Duties:
• Greet and Seat Customers:• Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
• Take Orders:• Accurately take customer orders, answer menu questions, and provide recommendations as needed.
• Serve Food and Drinks:• Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring accuracy and quality.
• Customer Service:• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Process Payments:• Handle billing and payments, ensuring accuracy in transactions and proper use of the point-of-sale system.
• Table Setup and Cleanup:• Set up tables with utensils, napkins, and condiments before service, and clean and reset tables after customers leave.
• Upsell Specials:• Promote daily specials and recommend additional menu items to enhance the customer’s experience.
Qualifications:
• Experience:• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required. Experience as a server is a plus.
• Skills:• Strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills. Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety practices.
• Physical Requirements:• Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform physically demanding tasks in both the kitchen and dining areas.
• Teamwork:• Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff, chefs, and front-of-house staff in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
