Human Resource Officer

Job Summary:

The Human Resource Officer will support the HR department in various functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of HR practices and employment regulations.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate with department managers to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
  • Conduct initial interviews and participate in the selection process.

2. Employee Onboarding:

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing employment documents and coordinating orientation sessions.
  • Ensure new hires are properly inducted and oriented to the company culture and policies.

3. Employee Relations and Engagement:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in resolving employee relations issues and conflicts, escalating to HR Manager as necessary.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement activities and events.

4. Performance Management:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of performance appraisal processes.
  • Assist in tracking employee performance and training progress.

5. Training and Development:

  • Help identify training needs and coordinate training sessions for employees.
  • Maintain training records and provide feedback to employees and management.

6. HR Administration and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, attendance, and leave.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with local labour laws and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports and documentation as needed.

7. Payroll and Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in timesheet submissions and payroll calculations.
  • Handle employee queries related to payroll, benefits, and other compensation issues.

8. Policy Implementation:

  • Support the implementation and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in developing new HR policies and revising existing ones as needed.

9. Health and Safety:

  • Assist in promoting workplace health and safety initiatives.
  • Help coordinate safety training and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in human resources or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
