Responsibilities:
- Lead and Inspire Teams: Guide established accounting teams in portfolio and client-based accounting, motivating them to deliver high-quality work and exceptional client service.
- Optimize Processes: Implement structured processes and best practices to enhance quality management, streamline workflows, and ensure consistent delivery of superior services.
- Client-Focused Approach: Maintain a client-centric focus by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly, and delivering comprehensive solutions that surpass client expectations.
- Foster Collaboration: Create a collaborative and positive work environment, strengthening relationships within the accounting team and with managers from other departments, such as corporate secretarial, tax, and payroll.
- Drive Efficiency: Identify opportunities for growth and process optimization within the accounting department to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure Compliance: Demonstrate expertise in MAS reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant guidelines.
- Conduct Training: Provide training for local and outsourced teams on new accounting standards, offering guidance and support where needed.
- Monitor Quality: Seek feedback from local teams and oversee the quality of work produced by outsourced teams, ensuring compliance with strict standards.
Requirements:
- Educational Background: Degree in accounting or a recognized professional qualification such as ACCA.
- Expertise in Standards: Deep knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and relevant accounting regulations.
- Experience: 10 to 15 years of progressive experience managing accounting teams in an accounting/outsourcing firm, with a preference for an audit background.
- Quality Management: Proven track record in quality management, process improvement, and team leadership.
- Leadership Skills: Strong ability to inspire and guide teams to achieve outstanding results.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in consolidations and technical aspects of SFRS and IFRS.
- Audit Resolution: Experience in navigating and resolving complex audit issues with external auditors to ensure compliance.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous and reliable, with a history of meeting deadlines.
- Autonomous Work Style: Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently under pressure.
- Additional Experience: Familiarity with Variable Capital Company (VCC) and fund-based accounting is advantageous.
