Job Title: Communication Systems Maintenance Engineer (1-Year Contract- Renewable)
Location: Ang Mo Kio, Singapore
Working Hours: 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated and skilled Communication Systems Maintenance Engineers to join our team on a 1-year contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our advanced communication systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Operation and Maintenance: Perform both corrective and preventive maintenance on communication systems to ensure continuous, reliable operation. This includes regular system checks, updates, and repairs as needed.
- Defect Management: Identify, diagnose, and manage system defects. Implement timely solutions to minimize downtime and maintain optimal system performance.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Conduct thorough troubleshooting to identify issues in communication systems and related equipment. Perform necessary repairs and calibration of measurement equipment to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- System Monitoring: Continuously monitor the health of the communication systems, including network stability, system performance, and data integrity, to proactively address any potential issues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical wiring diagrams, with the ability to interpret and apply this knowledge to cable termination and system repairs.
- Networking Skills: Experience in network design and exposure to networking technologies is a plus. Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and serial protocols (RS422, RS232) is advantageous.
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in operating platforms such as Microsoft Windows and Linux. Ability to navigate and troubleshoot within these environments.
- Measurement Equipment: Skilled in using measuring equipment or software, including network analyzers, serial protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Proficiency in tools like Wireshark for network analysis is essential.
- Data Communication: Knowledge of data communication protocols and transmission channels. Understanding of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Virtualization Technology.
- Cybersecurity Awareness: Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles to ensure communication systems are protected against threats.
- Project Management: Basic knowledge of project management skills to effectively coordinate maintenance schedules and system upgrades.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in maintenance or engineering roles, specifically related to communication systems or network infrastructure.
- Education: Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology (IT), or Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
Additional Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to obtain the necessary security clearance. Free-of-charge (FOC) replacement is required if the applicant is unsuccessful in obtaining clearance.
- Eligibility: Open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (PR).
