We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Assistant Vice President, Citigold/CPC Fixed Income and Cross-Asset Structured Execution Desk - Product Specialist based in Singapore. The Product Specialist in the CGCPC APAC Fixed Income Securities and Structured Products Desk will be responsible for product and process / platform development, managing product offerings and handling end-to-end product life cycle management. Working closely, the Desks' Dealers and Product Specialists will together drive product strategy, product idea generation, product recommendations & advisory towards increasing market share, staying ahead of competition and growing the overall business.
Responsibilities:
- Products covered includes structured products (primary focus) and fixed income securities (secondary focus).
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technology projects - providing detailed product and process requirements, conduct market readiness evaluations during testing phases, to ensure automation objectives are achieved
- Lead as SME in working with stakeholders across various teams / functions to develop and obtain new product approval, ensure timely and accurate product delivery, produce and provide quality and actionable product advice, improve processes / platforms, resolve product / business related issues (if any).
- Document new products and/or changes to existing products, ensure smooth business implementation during launch process, and prioritize and validate potentially dynamic material from multiple sources using analytical skills
- Stay up-to-date in new products, product opportunities, product platform capabilities (i.e. technology trends), competitor landscape, market developments and regulatory changes that may impact structured products / fixed income securities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams (investment counsellors, portfolio counsellors, bankers and more), keeping continually engaged with sales teams to better understand what are their client needs / objectives.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities of accountability and ownership wherever required or called upon to take the lead, contribute, coach / train and / or resolve issues that may arise.
- Apply good judgement and appropriately assess risk in all business decisions, with proper consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Bachelors / University Degree in Finance, Economics or related field
- 5 - 8 years or relevant experience in structured products and/or fixed income securities
- Good knowledge of capital market products and up-to-date in market news / developments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to work behind the scenes to deliver product and produce analysis / technical content as well as take centerstage in providing product recommendations and advice.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with automation projects / project management
- Strong skillset in Excel, Word, Power-point is a must. Ability in VBA, Python, Bloomberg is a plus.
- MAS Licensing / Professional certification (e.g. CFA, FRM) is another plus.
