Job Responsibilities


EDUCATOR: Infuse design into our institute's skillset and advocate for design

  • Develop and implement a framework for upskilling staff in basic design principles in healthcare setting
    Develop a strategy for cultivating an institution-wide attitude and aptitude for design. Identify programs and opportunity for nurturing design sensibilities in younger staff to develop a next generation workforce with a mindset and skillset necessary for the future economy.
  • Develop content and materials that translate case study insights into actionable strategies, fostering a culture of learning and improvement.

INNOVATOR: Employ design to improve competitiveness through elevating Patient & Staff Experience

  • Responsible for mapping out the overall patient and staff experience, including maintenance of patient experience database and running of reports, and utilizing surveys and analytics to deliver on initiatives and monitoring of patient and employee satisfaction
  • Conducts ongoing review of existing patient experience, patient- and person-centered care and engagement initiatives, programs, policies and procedures to identify barriers to success, gaps or discrepancies and opportunities for improvement. Recommends workable and cost-effective solutions or revisions to translate concepts of service excellence into actionable behaviors.
  • Facilitate sharing sessions and workshops with support of staff to identify gaps, opportunities and bottlenecks in patient care processes.
  • Design & lead the development and continuous improvement of the future Patient Experience and Wellbeing Center.
  • Implement strategies to elevate patient experience, ensuring care is compassionate, holistic, and aligned with the latest best practices.

FACILITATOR: Bring Design into the culture as a common language in fostering Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate the involvement of patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals in the design process to ensure services meet patient needs.
  • Effectively partners with key stakeholders and maintains a working relationship with the Executive Director to define the strategic direction and operational plan for advancing patient experience and staff engagement programs and initiatives.
  • Design and facilitate collaboration among multidisciplinary teams to drive integrated, patient-centered care.
  • Use design as a common language so as to act as a key liaison between various departments and stakeholders to align efforts toward common goals.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, healthcare professionals, and industry partners, to gather insights and feedback.

DESIGNER: Expand the role of design and innovation in improving quality through solving complex problems

  • Apply design and systems thinking to understand the complex interplay of factors affecting patient care and organizational efficiency.
  • Address challenges by designing and implementing practical, sustainable solutions that enhance patient care and operational performance.
    Drive low-cost, high-impact innovations that improve patient outcomes, focusing on sustainability and scalability within resource constraints.
  • Drive continuous improvement through feedback, data analysis, and ongoing iteration of programs and processes.
  • Spearhead the implementation of co-design methodologies to drive patient-centered innovations.

STORY TELLER: Develop the brand and identity through design as a strategy

  • Curate and disseminate real-world case studies that demonstrate the impact of codesign in healthcare, ensuring alignment of goals and strategic direction.
  • Align strategic goals with innovative, data-driven solutions that maximize impact within resource constraints.
  • Design and implement value-added projects and innovations to improve and sustain these initiatives and ensure application across the continuum of care
  • Design and lead learning and development initiatives that leverage successful examples from other leading healthcare institutions to drive change and innovation.
  • Represent the healthcare institute at industry conferences, seminars, and workshops to share insights on codesign methodologies and their impact on cancer care and innovation.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum qualification of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's in a relevant field will be an advantage, e.g., Industrial design, Codesign for Healthcare, Project Management, Design Thinking, Systems Innovation, Training, Organisation Development or Service Delivery.
  • At least five years of experience in codesign research and innovation practice, with past work experience in managing digital transformation projects, learning and development, innovation, operations and service planning is preferred
  • A strong focus on practice research, codesign methodology, talent development, operational efficiency, and resource allocation.
  • Proven track record of applying theory and practice in developing methodologies in complex organisational settings, preferably within healthcare or community health.
  • Experience in leading and managing challenges faced by multidisciplinary teams when overseeing collaborative projects that result in measurable improvements in patient care and operational outcomes. Skills in project management will be a plus.
  • Relevant knowledge in applying design thinking principles and methods to deal with system complexities in technology innovation
  • An understanding of strategy, design, operations, innovation, systems thinking, service transformation and process improvement through applied and academic research, innovation practice and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire critical stakeholders and fostering collaboration
  • Creative thinking with the ability to articulate and translate high-level goals into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Leadership qualities, including the ability to lead and manage a lean, cross-functional team effectively, manage change, and drive innovation.
  • Team player
  • Self-motivated, positive with a can-do attitude
