KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Marketing Director leads the Singapore & Malaysia Marketing Teams and is responsible for the marketing efforts of our international artists in these markets.
Their core role focuses on developing and building our artists footprints in Singapore &; Malaysia across all repertoire owners under the WMG umbrella including Atlantic Records, Warner Record, Elektra, Parlophone, WMUK, Spinnin’ and ADA (to name a few).
They work with the Managing Director, local marketing team and Regional Marketing team in determining and executing the strategy around the Asia and Malaysian/Singaporean priority artists to continue to develop artists in the region to in turn, grow Warner Music’s market share in Singapore & Malaysia. They are a digital native and data driven that can formulate and execute regional wide campaigns while working with the affiliates on localisation and adaptation. They are hands on while being a leader for their team and best in class for our repertoire owners and international artist managers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
● To act as the marketing leader for all frontline marketing & promotional activities for
international artists for all key repertoire owners from US, UK & Europe including the
following labels, Atlantic Records, WBR, Elektra, WMUK, Milan, ADA etc.
● Formulate & implement marketing strategies to ensure that our market share is in line or better than the global average
● Trouble shoot for all matters pertaining international content or artists
● Ensure regional marketing and promotional plans are effectively developed and executed locally
● Achieve budgeted revenue & market share targets
● Build strong relationships with Repertoire Owners, Local Affiliates and International Artists Managers
Marketing System
● To develop an efficient international release schedule system
● Formulating marketing plans for key projects / singles with the objective of achieving streaming chart success
● Develop creative & effective strategies to break new acts/songs
● Organize weekly frontline meeting to ensure department is well organized and implementing plans accordingly at the local level in line with regional & global directives. Work alongside the digital, R&A and account servicing team to discuss key issues.
● Monitor performance of key projects and recommend corrective action if necessary.
Marketing & Promotion
● Ownership of localised paid media strategy and objectives for regional execution
● Manage Content Strategy, Driving Conversion, Identify KOLs & working with relevant digital platforms and their creators to give Warner songs and artists the maximum impact for success.
● Regular communication with labels to ensure key promotional tools are available for priority releases.
● Push & coordinate international artist promo tour
● Develop strong promotion strategies for touring artists in the region to maximize their exposure on our social media and DSPs.
● Regular postmortem on marketing plans to improve future marketing strategies & decision-making.
Digital Accounts
● Working with the account servicing manager to manage play-listing strategy with the product & account servicing teams within the region.
Others
● Monitor new music & marketing ideas from overseas & suggest for local implementation if applicable.
● Take notice of new artists, trends, and contents from US, UK or other repertoire potential markets so that we can stay ahead of our competitors.
● Transfer success story and excitement from affiliates to the whole region.
