IT System Engineer (Level 2 Support, Office Hours)

• Company: Well-reputable IT Service Provider Organization (providing remoted support to clients)
• Working Location: Central Heartland Zone (Ang Mo Kio Zone)
• Working Days: 5 Working Days/Week (8.30 AM – 6 PM) [Required to provide stand-by support (after office hours, and on weekends and PH), or OT, in essential cases]

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handling day-to-day, L1 – L2 Management (Monitoring, Troubleshooting/ Configuration, Installation/ Implementation, Testing, Preventive Maintenance, etc.) of IT Systems and Infrastructure related activities (i.e.: Operating Systems, OS Patching, Application (software), System Management Tools, Hardware/ Equipment, etc.)
• Participating/ assisting in the evaluation of security policies, implementation designs, existing systems, redundancy strategies, backup protocols, etc. and providing technical directions (for further improvements)
• Managing and collaborating with various stakeholders including 3rd party vendors, IT service providers, etc.
• Documentation and Reporting
• Other related scopes as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• Have at least 2 – 3 years of relevant IT System Engineering (L1 – L2 or L2) working experiences
• Experienced with installation, configuration and troubleshooting in Unix/ Linux/ Windows based server environment(s)
• Experienced with Virtualization and Containerization (e.g.: Hyper-V, VMware, etc.)
• Experienced with Network Devices (e.g.: Firewalls, Switches, Routers, etc.) and possess good Network Knowledge (i.e.: OSI Network Layers, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Comfortable and able to commit to over-time as and when required to; and rotating-basis-stand-by arrangements (after office-hours and/or on Weekends & Public Holiday)
• Advantageous to have, but not a must have:

1. Administration and Performance Tuning (of application stacks)
2. Experienced with Monitoring Systems and Bash/ Shell Scripts (for automation tasks)
