Key Responsibilities
- Publish reports and write original research which articulates key industry issues, insights and market outlooks.
- Develop/Improve Vale’s knowledge on specific dynamics of the iron ore prices.
- Update and expand understanding of iron ore cost curves, cost structure and profitability of competitors.
- Evaluate different distribution channels for seaborne iron ore and logistics bottlenecks, based on regular interactions with market participants and field trips to the iron ore producing hubs.
- Interact systematically and build relationship with market analysts, industry experts, associations, and consultancy companies to obtain valuable insights for the development of market assessments.
- Represent Vale in conferences focusing on supply and prices and networking with industry participants to grasp changes on market dynamics.
- Contribute and participate in iron ore marketing related projects that are critical for Vale to understand factors influencing the iron ore market from supply, demand, and pricing perspectives.
Requirements
- At least 5-8 years of relevant experience in iron ore, steel or scrap industries.
- Previous professional experience in steel, mining or consulting companies is a plus.
- Master or Graduate degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
- Strong quantitative skills.
- High energy and initiative to provide a consistent flow of high-quality analysis.
- Excellent analytical, written and oral presentation skills – ability to tell the story.
- Intellectually curious with rapid response time.
- Team player, able to interact and work within a diverse international team located in different regions.
- Works effectively in pressured situations, tight deadlines and different time zones.
