Director of Technical Management

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

A. Technical Solution Design

1. Work closely with Sales Department to support pre-sales activities for both existing and new clients as and when required.

2. Oversee and support preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM) required for sales quotations.

3. Support and oversee site survey activities and ensure accurate and timely report is prepared.


B. Technical Deliveries B1- Equipment Allocation

4. Developing a comprehensive evaluation process for selecting equipment and cables based on clients’ needs, efficiency, and commercial balance with existing infrastructure that can help mitigate potential issues.

5. Ensure that equipment allocated for every project is in accordance with the contractual agreement and same standards are kept across all Company’s project without over/under delivery.

6. Oversee and support timely preparation of a detailed equipment list for equipment and cable allocation to facilitate booking.

7. Follow up with the Allocation Team to ensure that their queries are answered, and shortage list is produced in a timely manner to facilitate timely procurement decisions.

8. Provide technical consultation to the allocation team for maximizing equipment utilization and minimizing cost of shortages. B2- Technical Preparation

9. Work closely with Engineering Department to ensure they are informed and aligned about the technical design, preparation and deliveries.

10. Work closely with Engineering Departments Head/ Director for improving and upholding equipment preparation standards and practices.

11. In collaboration with the Engineering management: • Setup clear protocols for preparation standards • Establishing clear protocols for technical support and maintenance, along with regular audits, to identify areas for improvement.

12. Act as the second level of technical quality control of technical preparations after engineering management to ensure quality and consistency of project deliveries.

13. Set standards for preparation of the engineering books for all project and work closely with the Engineering Department to ensure technical preparation is performed and documented in a standard and consistent manner

14. Assist the engineering department in troubleshooting any technical issues as and when required.

15. Support Crewing Department in assessing technical suitability of potential freelancers for given positions as and when required.

16. Support Crewing Department with assessing technical suitability of in-house resources and resolve crew shortages as and when required.

17. Attend to all production reports for all projects and ensure all technical queries are covered and connect with the salesperson for any clarification when necessary.

18. If any extra equipment is requested/allocated in addition to the contractual agreement, communicate to the attention of relevant salesperson for additional billing to clients.


C - Project Management:

19. Improve inter-departmental communication speed and quality and operational efficiency (with regards to projects) by holding a central shared project information platform for information, updates and progress status of all areas (allocation, logistics, crewing, purchasing).

20. Oversee project deliveries form preparation to closure by working closely with the departments involved.

21. Ensure project information flows efficiently and timely to enable departments to act early and control direct cost of projects.

22. Act as a bridge between Sales and operational (Engineering, Crewing, Operations) departments with regards to project information, preparation and deliveries.

23. Connect with Allocation Team, Engineering Department, Logistic Team, Crewing Department, Cabling Team, to ensure project activities are on track and teams are aware and acting on the updates/changes.

24. Work closely with (Sales, Engineering, Crewing, and Operations) department heads to predict/escalate any issues that may jeopardise deliveries or may have significant impact on project cost.

25. Adopt best practises with regards to technical project management.


D- Other Responsibilities

26. Train individuals with project management and technical management skills and ensure there is a capable team in place for all your areas of responsibility.

27. Train and develop suitable engineers for technical manager role and assist the company to overcome shortages of technical managers.

28. Work closely with Head of Program Development to establish an effective platform for project management and information sharing.


Job Requirements:

  • Familiar with event broadcasting technical operations is a MUST.
  • Bachelor degree in Technology / Business Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering in a broacasting operations environment.
  • Expertise in managing the project and technical management skills.
  • Experience in training & developing engineers.
  • Strong understanding of broadcasting technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead the team in a fast-paced environment.
