Job description
- Set up and maintain the bar/kitchen with SOP, utensils, and equipment;
- Study and improve on each recipe, research and develop recipes and suggest new menu items, seasonal specials or alternative cost-effective ingredients;
- Gather and purchase all necessary ingredients;
- Maintaining steady levels of inventory, minimising wastages and costs (including checking freshness of food and discard out-of-date items);
- Prepare and plate orders in a timely manner, ensure appealing plate presentation;
- Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy);
- Collaborate with FOH staff of daily specials, or items to upsell/clear;
- Delegate tasks to kitchen staff, supervise and assist as needed;
- Ensure compliance with all food health and safety regulations within the bar/kitchen area.
