Job Purpose
- The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the organizations warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures. The Warehouse Executive/Supervisor will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize the features and functionalities of the WMS to manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and track movement of goods within the warehouse.
- Analyze warehouse processes, workflows, and warehouse space utilisation, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS, including receiving, storing, and issuing of goods. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Coordinate order picking, packing, and shipping activities using the WMS to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of customer orders.
- Train warehouse staff on the use of the WMS and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure proficiency in system operation and compliance with standard procedures.
- Generate reports and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and inventory accuracy, using data generated by the WMS to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Serve as the primary user and administrator of the WMS for managing and updating warehouse operations.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding regulated products and/or hazardous materials.
- Supervise a team of warehouse employees, delegation, training, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions.
- Conduct periodic spot-checks of inventory levels, supplies, or equipment.
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary.
- Supervise improvements, and contractors, including, repairs, and refurbishment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- IT literate and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to speak and write simple English
- Experience in warehouse operations
- Min GCE “N” or “O” level, preferable with Diploma in Warehouse / Logistic
