Background
GeneCloudOmics has been developed at the Bioinformatics Instiute, ASTAR, for large scale biomedical data analyses. It is an easy-to-use web server with a comprehensive range of data analytics tools in one package that no other current standalone software or web-based tool can do currently. GeneCloudOmics is developed in Shiny integrating several data analytics packages in R (Bioconductor). Here, we aim to extend the web server to include additional packages including single cell and spatial omics analytics. Thus, we are looking for a software engineer who has good experience in bioinformatics, data analytics & machine learning software development.
Jobscope
- Integrate source codes of multiple open sources packages in R with GeneCloudOmics.
Explore/develop new codes for spatial and mult-omics analytics. - Review current codes and design new strategies
- Review scientific literature and keep abreast with the latest analytic trends.
- Drive new directions for the future of the technology platform.
- Manage the support GeneCloudOmics webserver.
Requirements
- Master or Bachelor in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics or Bioinformatics
- Preferably with 1 to 3 years of experience in software development, bioinformatics or data analysis
- Famililar with multiple programming languages
- Famililar with biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics & metabolomics)
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and team playing
- Work with multidisciplinary team members
