Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source products that balance quality, price, and delivery times.
- Negotiate contracts and policies with suppliers.
- Issue purchase orders and manage deliveries.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure compliance with purchase requisitions.
- Handle damaged or defective goods and maintain day-to-day supplier interactions.
- Review and track order statuses, keeping detailed records.
- Maintain professional supplier relationships.
- Conduct cost-down exercises to meet targets.
Qualifications and Attributes:
- Education: Diploma/ITE in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in purchasing or buyer roles, preferably in the Maritime/Service Industry.
- Skills:Vendor sourcing.
Familiarity with purchasing software (Navision/Biz Central 365).
Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Understanding of supply chain procedures and ability to analyze vendor contracts.
