Role Overview:
As the Vice President of Engineering at Traveloka, you will lead and drive our engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions that enhance the customer experience and drive business growth. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction, building and developing world-class engineering talent, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical leadership to the engineering organization, driving the development and execution of our technology roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
- Team Management: Build, mentor, and empower a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and excellence. Lead by example and inspire team members to achieve their full potential.
- Product Delivery: Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and features on time and within budget. Drive a culture of agility, iteration, and rapid experimentation.
- Technology Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and drive innovation within the engineering organization. Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies to enhance our products and services.
- Scalability and Reliability: Ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our systems and infrastructure to support our growing customer base and business operations. Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong collaboration and communication across engineering teams and with other departments, promoting transparency, alignment, and shared goals. Serve as a key liaison between engineering and senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven track record of leadership and success in a senior engineering role, preferably in a fast-paced technology company or startup environment.
- Strong technical background with expertise in software development, architecture, and engineering best practices. Experience with modern development methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams, with a focus on talent acquisition, development, and retention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Passion for travel, technology, and innovation, with a deep understanding of the travel industry and customer needs.
