Job Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and support servers running on Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks such as patching software, updating firmware, and conducting hardware evaluations/upgrades.
- Manage user access control by setting up accounts, permissions, and ensuring adherence to company policies regarding data security.
- Oversee the administration of internal resources including Active Directory (for Windows) or LDAP (for Linux), file sharing services, and print servers.
- Monitor network traffic/server utilization to identify potential issues before they become critical problems; implement performance tuning strategies when necessary.
- Administer SAN/NAS environments including disk provisioning, LUN management, zoning, fiber channel networking etc.; ensure efficient operation with minimal downtime through proactive monitoring/maintenance practices
- Develop/implement backup recovery plans for critical data stored across various platforms;
- Conduct regular audits/capacity analysis reports in order to plan for future growth needs while optimizing current resource usage.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred;
equivalent work experience may be considered - Proven track record managing both Windows/Linux server environments
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware/Hyper-V is highly desirable
- Knowledgeable about configuring/maintaining enterprise-level storage solutions (SAN/NAS)
- Strong analytical/troubleshooting skills combined with excellent communication abilities
- Ability to document processes/procedures clearly concisely
- Capacity planning expertise allowing for strategic infrastructure scaling based on
organizational demands
