Over the longer-term, Transcelestial aims to develop a constellation of small satellites positioned in Low Earth Orbit, allowing their laser network to not only beam across cities but upwards to connect continents across the world too.

About the Role
The Senior DevOps Engineer will maintain Transcelestial’s cloud infrastructure and develop features for future scalability and on-premise solutions for Transcelestial’s customers. The Senior DevOps Engineer will ensure that Transcelestial’s cloud infrastructure is always up-to-date and secure. The Senior DevOps Engineer will also work on building scalable and secure observability solutions for internal and customer use.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Maintain Transcelestial’s cloud infrastructure and keep it up-to-date to enhance developer productivity and customer experience
- Improve Transcelestial’s cloud infrastructure to ensure future scalability
- Improve Transcelestial’s cloud infrastructure to ensure security
- Design and develop on-premise support solutions for customers
- Design and develop on-premise observability solutions for customers
What you will bring:
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, especially in unfamiliar and time-sensitive situations
- Strong ability to devise solutions to solve problems with limited resources
- Strong ability to make engineering trade-offs and assess risks with respect to business objectives
- Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills (ability to communicate ideas and designs to your peers)
- Ability to thrive working with a team of people from different backgrounds in a highly collaborative, time-sensitive environment
- 4-5 years of relevant working experience (SRE/DevOps/backend development)
- Working knowledge of Git
- Good knowledge of Linux (Debian)
- Good knowledge of security practices, designs, and architectures
- Comfortable working with the command line
- Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience working with IaC Tools (Ansible/Terraform)
- Experience working with datastreaming, analytics and reporting services (ElasticSearch/Kibana, Grafana/Prometheus)
- Experience working with SQL and RDMSes
- Experience working with VPNs (OpenVPN/WireGuard)
- Experience working with load balancers (HAProxy) and highly available distributed systems
- Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP/AWS)
- Experience in backend application development (Go/C#/Java)
- Experience working with REST or gRPC APIs
- Experience developing tests (unit tests, integration tests, etc.)
It is a bonus if you also have:
- Experience working with IoT device management systems and/or Element Management Systems (EMSes)
