Responsibilities
- Identify any unsafe condition or unsafe work practice which is carried out in the workplace
- Recommend and assist the project team of the workplace to implement reasonable and practical measures to ensure a safe work environment
- Advise and liaise with Project in charge and construction team on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Work with the construction team to ensure compliance with safe work method and procedure
- Conduct regular HSE inspections and ensure that work activities are carried out according to agreed methods
- Ensure that remedial actions are carried out to rectify any unsafe acts and conditions
- Assist in the investigations and reporting of accidents/incidents/near misses and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Ensure compliance to legal and client requirement, code of practice and the Company’s health, safety & environment rules and regulations
- Conduct training for workplace safety and training activities
- Assist the project team to review the method statements and risk assessments
- Follow up on the submission of HSE documentations
- Monitor the workplace HSE performance
Requirements
- Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health and valid WSH Coordinator Refresher certificate
- At least 3 years’ experience in similar capacity in the construction industry, preferably with prior experience involved in building or LTA projects
- Candidate with more experience will be considered for a senior role
- Candidate with Assess Confined Space for Safe Entry and Work certificate will have an added advantage
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent team player, good interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude
- Mindset to work in a digital environment
