Job Responsibilities:
1. Facility Maintenance & Operations:
- Oversee daily operations of facility equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Conduct inspections to ensure optimal functionality and safety of all facility systems.
2. Environmental Safety:
- Implement and maintain environmentally sustainable practices in the facility, focusing on reducing waste, energy consumption, and carbon footprint.
- Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations such as the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA).
- Manage water and air quality systems, and ensure proper waste disposal methods are in place.
3. Fire Safety:
- Ensure the facility meets all Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire safety regulations, including the Fire Safety Act and other relevant guidelines.
- Maintain and inspect fire protection systems, such as sprinklers, alarms, and fire extinguishers.
- Conduct regular fire drills, fire risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure preparedness in case of emergencies.
- Collaborate with fire safety engineers to design and implement fire safety measures within the facility.
4. Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to local workplace health and safety regulations, including the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA).
- Implement safety protocols and conduct safety training for facility staff to mitigate risks.
- Manage incident investigations related to safety breaches, and take corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
5. Project Management:
- Lead or assist in facility upgrades, retrofits, and renovation projects to improve environmental and fire safety standards.
- Work with external vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
6. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance certifications.
- Prepare regular reports on facility performance, environmental impact, and safety incidents for senior management.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facility management, with a focus on environmental sustainability and fire safety.
Certifications:
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification from SCDF is an advantage.
- WSQ Environmental Control Officer certification may be required.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of SCDF fire safety regulations and Singapore environmental laws.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy efficiency practices.
- Proficiency in risk assessments, fire drills, and emergency response planning.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
