Position objective and summary
- Ensuring that all waste management activities within company are in compliance with Singapore Government bodies(SCDF, NEA, PUB, MOM) standard and regulations.
Main tasks / activities / responsibilities
- Conducting regular inspections of waste management facilities, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Developing and implementing waste management plans, policies, and procedures to minimize waste generation and promote recycling and reuse.
- Reviewing and analysing waste data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Coordinating with other departments (sales, operation & Lab team) on daily activities to ensure our internal and external waste handling is as per NEA requirements and train employees on proper waste handling and disposal procedures.
- Maintaining records of waste management activities, including permits, inspections, and reports.
- Communicating with regulatory agencies and responding to inquiries regarding waste management activities.
- Participating in environmental audits and developing corrective action plans to address deficiencies.
- Staying up to date with changes in waste management regulations and industry best practices and providing recommendations for improvements.
Job requirements (education, linguistic ability, professional experience, leadership qualities, soft skills etc.)
- Candidates typically need a Diploma certificate in environmental science, engineering, or a related field, as well as several years of experience in waste management and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills are also essential for this role.
- Well written and understand English
- Attend all updated Safety & environment courses
- Proven experience as a Compliance Officer or Compliance Manager
- Experience in risk management
- Knowledge of legal requirements and controls
- Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards
