Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
- At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
- Preferably Non-Executive specialized in Engineering - Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
Responsibilities
The role of an Environmental Control Officer (ECO) is basically to look out for conditions/ situations in construction sites which cause environmental health problems or are likely to cause environmental health problems. He should report these conditions/ situations to the contractor together with recommendations on remedial measures to be taken to prevent recurrence.
The main areas where the ECO should pay attention to are as follows:
- Disease-bearing insects and rodents
- Proper disposal of construction waste
- Noise, air and dust pollution
- Earth littering
- Siltation of drains
- Food hygiene in canteens
- Any other environmental health matters
