Position Summary:
This role sits within the APAC Trade Operations team and primarily supports the Capital Markets products in the Fixed Income business. The APAC Trade Operations team also cover Money Market, Funding, Foreign Exchange and Derivatives. It will require a highly motivated individual with strong decision-making skills, who is able to work independently and also as part of a team. The incumbent may be involved in Capital Markets products processing and various other support functions for the Singapore desks as directed by the Manager of Capital Markets Operations. The individual will identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the development of business requirements and project testing for new initiatives and projects.
Key skills and competencies:
- Display a solid knowledge of Fixed Income products and its operational functions in confirmations and settlement
- Possess good understanding of APAC fixed income markets and Euroclear settlement
- Ability to work under time pressure, multi-task and provide coverage to different desks
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills; initiative to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely resolution
- Attention to detail and high personal standards for accuracy and quality of work produced
- A solid team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills.
- Possess Excel skills and experience working with complex spreadsheets
- Working knowledge of SWIFT and understanding of triparty settlement will be beneficial.
Responsibilities include:
- Main responsibilities include Fixed Income confirmation matching, settlement processing and corporate action processing.
- Investigating post-settlement reconciliation breaks and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the regional teams to ensure the processes are globally aligned.
- Assisting with preparation and ongoing maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
- May act as the primary coordinator or lead small scale initiatives or projects
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5+ years relevant experience in Capital Market Operations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Able to work morning shift (7am to 4pm SGT) to cover New Zealand and Australia markets and on Singapore Public Holidays (rotational basis)
