My client is seeking for an experienced and strategic leader for the role of Head of Corporate Actions. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of corporate actions processing, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of operations across the business.
This role requires in-depth knowledge of corporate actions, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence. The Head of Corporate Actions will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices, risk management frameworks, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:Lead and mentor the corporate actions team, ensuring a high level of performance and operational efficiency.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team. - End-to-End Management of Corporate Actions:Oversee the identification, tracking, and execution of all corporate actions, including dividends, mergers, stock splits, rights issues, tender offers, etc., across global markets.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of corporate actions events, with a focus on minimizing operational risk. - Process Improvement & Efficiency:Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Develop and implement industry best practices and ensure adherence to operational standards. - Risk Management & Compliance:Establish robust risk management frameworks to mitigate errors in corporate actions processing.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including reporting and audit obligations.
Work closely with compliance, legal, and risk teams to manage any corporate actions-related risks. - Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including custodians, depositories, exchanges, fund managers, and brokers, to ensure seamless execution of corporate actions.
Provide regular reporting and updates to senior management and stakeholders on the performance of the corporate actions function. - Technology & Systems Oversight:Evaluate and oversee the use of technology and systems in corporate actions processing.
Partner with IT and external vendors to enhance the functionality of corporate actions platforms and tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CISI) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate actions, securities operations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep knowledge of global corporate actions processes, market regulations, and industry practices.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading large operational teams.
- Proven track record in process improvement, automation, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with corporate actions systems and platforms such as SWIFT, Bloomberg, or similar tools.
