The Senior Equipment Engineer is responsible, as a member of the interdisciplinary operations team, for installing, commissioning, qualifying, and maintaining the company’s processes. This includes transferring, developing, building, documenting, and repairing processes. Furthermore, the Senior Equipment Engineer will support the necessary training activities to ensure the processes are operated correctly.
Your Responsibilities
- Install, test, commission, and qualify all production equipment.
- Manage and support calibration, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Ensure sufficient stock levels of essential spares and consumables to support equipment maintenance and minimize downtime.
- Manage and support transfer projects, document change processes, and audit activities.
- Coordinate with local and global cross-functional teams to manage non-conformities (NC) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Establish equipment maintenance controls and regularly review and update PM procedures, risk assessments, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Drive equipment fault investigations and continuous improvement programs to resolve equipment issues, propose solutions to ensure product quality and enhance process robustness.
- Management of local vendors and the technical support team at headquarters
- Lead and guide equipment technicians in all aspects of maintenance to enhance their technical competencies.
- Provide training to operators and engineers on equipment maintenance.
- Drive cost reduction efforts to eliminate unnecessary expenses and waste while improving equipment performance.
- Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned by the Equipment Engineering Manager
Your Profile
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC, familiarity with SAP and ARAS Innovator will be an added advantage.
- Meticulous, responsible, flexible, independent, and customer-oriented
- Proficient in English, both orally and in writing; German is preferred.
- Experience working in a project environment with strong problem-solving skills.
- Business knowledge preferred.
