Responsiblity
This role involves executing international purchase and sale contracts under INCOTERMS from FCA to DDP, managing trade execution and documentation for both containerized and bulk shipments via various transport methods. Responsibilities include reviewing incoming Letters of Credit, coordinating buyer amendments, issuing documentary instructions, and ensuring timely submission of shipping documents to banks for L/C negotiation or collection. It also involves providing information for trade financing, arranging cargo insurance, calculating vessel laytime, and finalizing agreements with shipowners, sellers, and buyers. Collaboration with internal teams and communication with external stakeholders is essential, along with ensuring prompt buyer payments, maintaining records, and entering data into the ITAS system. The role includes guiding junior staff, resolving operational issues, supporting the team lead, overseeing vessel operations, managing third-party appointments, and serving as a point of contact for disputes. Additionally, building relationships within the industry and ensuring compliance with customs regulations for destination countries like Indonesia are important.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in agricultural commodity trading and laytime calculation. The candidate should have a deep understanding of the commodity trading process, Letters of Credit (L/C), and laytime calculations, along with knowledge of the regulatory landscape and governing rules. Expertise in trade operations, contractual terms, and contract execution is essential, as well as familiarity with import/export logistics and practices. Basic knowledge of legal and accounting principles related to sales contracts, execution, dispute resolution, and laytime is also required.
